Antique Heart Padlock Fancy Curb 9ct Gold Bracelet
Antique Heart Padlock Fancy Curb 9ct Gold Bracelet
This quality antique curb bracelet is completed with a heart padlock fastening and is modelled in 9ct gold, dating back to the Edwardian era.
This bracelet is all original and displays very pretty embossed links at intervals around the chain. It also has hallmarks, including the maker's mark, making this piece even more collectable.
Padlock bracelets became popular during the Victorian period, they were worn by women whose significant others were leaving for an extended period of time. The bracelet would be locked onto the woman’s wrist by the padlock charm, to which only her beloved would have the key- he would then open it upon his return.
This bracelet is a beautiful example of this style, which is in excellent antique condition, complete with a safety chain.

CONDITION
This antique bracelet is now over 100 years old! However, it remains in very good condition for its age; structurally, the bracelet is sound and features no signs of thinning or wear. There is some light surface wear and patina in keeping with age, but nothing that deflects from the piece's beauty.
