This highly unusual antique brooch features a snake, twisted into a knot design, decorated with monochrome enamel work and colourful Paste stones.
The cult of snake jewellery began in 1840 when Queen Victoria received a snake Emerald ring from Prince Albert for their engagement. Snake jewellery went on to be very popular throughout the 19th century, symbolising eternity and everlasting love.
This quality brooch would make a great addition to any collection or the perfect gift.

This beautiful Victorian brooch remains in great condition. There is some wear the the enamel in keeping with age but the majority of the enamel work is untouched. The gold is bright and the Paste stones are original and secure.

If you require ring sizing, please get in touch. Most of our rings can be sized. This usually takes 7 days. We charge a small fee of £30 for standard sizing. Sizing of 3 sizes or more may be subject to an additional cost.

We gladly accept layaway on all items in our shop.
All pieces may be reserved with a 20% non-refundable deposit.
After the deposit is made, you then have 2-4 months to complete the outstanding balance at your own convenience without any pressure from us.
We usually ask items under £250 to be paid within 2 months and any items over £250 to be paid within 3-4 months. But this can be discussed to suit you.
If a layaway is cancelled, the deposit amount is non-refundable. You are only eligible for shop credit if a layaway item is returned.
