Antique Art Deco French Blue Paste Silver Rectangle Brooch
Antique Art Deco French Blue Paste Silver Rectangle Brooch
This quality French Art Deco Brooch is undoubtedly a statement piece! It is beautifully made with a pretty blue paste stone taking centre stage, accompanied by many clear paste stones all around.
The brooch has the original trombone clasp, named after the musical instrument that needs a push and pull to operate. The clasp was first used in European jewellery in the early 1890s. Many brooches made in France displayed this type of clasp.
This brooch is well made, with each stone hand cut and exquisitely set, dating to circa.1920. This piece is also typical of French-made jewellery during this era.
Paste is hand-cut glass used since the 18th century to replicate Gemstones.
This beautiful piece would make the perfect gift or a great addition to any collection.
